BIOGRAPHY
Roni Fraser is a third-year Ph.D. student in the Department of Sociology & Criminal Justice and an affiliate of the Disaster Research Center. Her research interests include disaster response and recovery, nonprofits and emergency management, volunteer and donations management, and health and disasters. She holds a master’s degree in Sociology from the University of Delaware and a bachelor’s degree in Emergency Administration and Disaster Planning from the University of North Texas. Roni has gained professional research and emergency management experience with the National Highway and Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Region 6 in Denton, TX, The South-Central Climate Adaptation Science Center, The Coppell Fire Department- Life Safety Park, The Executive Office of the President in Washington, D.C., and SBP New Orleans. Roni is also an active volunteer with Team Rubicon, where she deploys to areas affected by disasters and also serves as a cadre instructor for the Northeast Territory. In her spare time, Roni enjoys traveling the country, spending time with family, thrift shopping, and crafting.
