BIOGRAPHY

Sina Naeimi Dafchahi is a Ph.D. Student in Civil and Environmental Engineering Department. Before entering the civil infrastructure program at UD, he graduated from the Earthquake Engineering program at K.N. Toosi University of Technology, Tehran, Iran. His thesis was entitled “Application of Optimization Process & Seismic Loss Modeling towards Designing Optimum Building Insurance Policy Conditions”. He also holds a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Guilan, Rasht, Iran.

Sina joined UD in Fall 2019 and is working under the supervision of Professor Rachel Davidson on modeling social impact due to seismic risk affecting interdependent critical infrastructures. The project is funded by NSF.

RESEARCH INTERESTS

Seismic hazard & risk modeling, application of catastrophe risk modeling, and the application of optimization in disaster models.
