BIOGRAPHY
Shauna Leahy is a second-year Master’s/Ph.D. student in the Department of Sociology and Criminal Justice. Her research interests include the family and the elderly as a vulnerable population, social capital, caregiving, and perceived responsibility, as well as how all of those come together in disaster situations. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Sociology from The University of Scranton, with minors in criminology and philosophy. Shauna currently works as a graduate student teaching assistant instructing statistics labs for undergraduates at the University of Delaware. She is also in the process of working on a Master’s thesis exploring informal caregiver responsibility and health during the current COVID-19 pandemic in the United States.
