BIOGRAPHY

A.R. Siders is an assistant professor in the Biden School of Public Policy and Administration and the Department of Geography, a Core Faculty Member of the Disaster Research Center, and Director of the Gerard J. Mangone Climate Change Science and Policy Hub. Her research focuses on climate change adaptation governance and decision-making. Her recent projects have focused on managed retreat as an adaptation strategy and the social justice implications of adaptation. Siders has been a contributing author to the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change Sixth Assessment Report and the Fifth US National Climate Assessment. She co-edited a book on “Global Views of Climate Relocation and Social Justice”, and she is an active member of collaborative networks focus on fair and innovative climate adaptation.

Siders previously served as a Presidential Management Fellow with the U.S. Navy, an associate director of the Center for Climate Change Law at Columbia University, and an environmental fellow at the Harvard University Center for the Environment. She holds a J.D. from Harvard Law School and a Ph.D. from Stanford University. She is originally from Duluth, Minnesota, and misses the cold.
