BIOGRAPHY

Amanda Stoltz is a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Delaware’s Disaster Research Center under the supervision of Dr. A.R. Siders. She holds a Ph.D. in Environmental Studies with an Emphasis in Coastal Science & Policy from the University of Santa Cruz, California, a M.S. in Marine Ecosystems and Society from the University of Miami’s Rosenstiel School of Marine and Atmospheric Science, and a B.A. in English and Marine Biology from Tulane University.

Before joining the Disaster Research Center, Amanda gained seven years of Federal agency experience evaluating the impacts of hurricanes, creating guidelines for effective decision support, and promoting environmental justice. She began her career as a fisheries anthropologist working for the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s Southeast Fisheries Science Center (NOAA SEFSC). She continued her civil service as a Pathways Intern and social scientist at the U.S. Geological Survey’s Woods Hole Coastal and Marine Science Center.
