DRC Thanks You for Your Support

Dear DRC Friends and Alumni,

First, let us say thank you to all who have donated to DRC this giving season!

It’s clear that you understand the importance of our research and service and see the value in student participation, which is at the core of DRC’s mission.

Your generous support helps to provide students at the Disaster Research Center with the unique #DRCExperience, one that perhaps you yourself benefited from in the past. With the money raised from your donations, students will be able to present their independent research and participate in meetings both in the US and abroad; have access to a continuously growing collection, providing them with vital and unique research resources; and gain tremendous field experience through quick response and field research deployments. Your gifts to DRC impact the professional development and education of individual students – our future disaster researchers and informed practitioners.

Read what one grateful student writes:

“This year, I was the recipient of a fellowship from DRC that allowed me to travel to the Natural Hazards Conference to present my research and learn from other scholars. Donors to the DRC have made it possible for me to participate in activities and contribute to the field in ways I would not have been able to otherwise. I am very thankful.” – Valerie Marlowe, DRC Graduate Research Assistant

We want you to be an active member of our DRC community too. Please visit our website drc.udel.edu to check out other ways you can engage with DRC. We are always looking for individuals to share their experience as guest speakers or to host an intern or practicum student! And do watch DRC updates throughout the year in our Dispatch and on the DRC Facebook page.

Again, thank you! We appreciate your support.

Happy holidays,
James Kendra & Tricia Wachtendorf
