Rachel is a doctoral student in the Disaster Science and Management program. She graduated with a Master of Applied Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Delaware in 2016, after receiving a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from the University of Pittsburgh in 2014. Her interests include transportation infrastructure, the transportation aspects of public health, the spread of disease, and other unusual transportation contexts in disasters. After receiving her doctorate, Rachel hopes to work for either a federal agency or a private consulting firm, advocating for the inclusion of transportation in disaster planning.
