Aimee Mankins is a Master student in the Disaster Science and Management Program. She earned dual bachelor degrees in Political Science and History from West Virginia University. Aimee has been fulfilling the mission of the American Red Cross for seven years in a variety of disaster-related roles. She served two consecutive terms with the AmeriCorps National Preparedness and Response Corps first in New Orleans, LA and then in San Luis Obispo, CA. Recently, she served as the Senior Manager for Preparedness and Workforce Engagement in Central California focusing on volunteer disaster readiness during steady state and disaster responder mobilization during an operational state. She has responded to numerous disasters in client casework, workforce staffing, and sheltering for wildfires in California, floods in Florida, and hurricanes in North Carolina, Louisiana, and New York. In her spare time, Aimee is an avid hiker and National Park enthusiast so far enjoying 26 of the 60 parks.
