    Biography

    Zachary Cox is a Ph.D. student in the Disaster Science and Management program at The University of Delaware, where he works as a Research Assistant. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology with Honors from Mount Royal University in Calgary, Canada, and a Master of Arts in Disaster and Emergency Management from Royal Roads University in Victoria, Canada. 

    An experienced disaster practitioner, Zac has worked as a Recovery Management Consultant with IBM, as a Research Assistant with Mount Royal University’s Center for Community Disaster Research, and volunteered with the Red Cross’ Personal Disaster Assistance Response Team. His interests in business continuity, disaster recovery, and community resilience are being applied to understand how small organizations are updating their internal processes and engaging with their communities in entirely new ways to navigate the COVID-19 pandemic.
