    Biography

    Mei Johnson is a Ph.D. student in Disaster Science & Management. She worked at the Delaware Emergency Management Agency as the Delaware Citizen Corps Program Manager 2015 – 2021. She currently works in the Department of Health and Social Services with the Division of Medicaid & Medical Assistance in the Policy & Planning Unit as a Social Service Administrator. Prior to attending the University of Delaware, Johnson completed an internship with the Independent Environmental Verification division of Oak Ridge Institute for Science and Education (ORISE) / Oak Ridge Associated Universities (ORAU) (2012) and served as an AmeriCorps VISTA member with Habitat for Humanity International in Atlanta, GA (2010 – 2011). Johnson holds a Master’s Degree in Disaster Science & Management from The University of Delaware and plans to complete her doctorate in the Winter 2021. Currently, Johnson’s topics of interest include disaster preparedness, education and training for civilians, community outreach, special populations, and youth and undergraduate student preparedness.
