    Biography

    ​Mei Johnson is a Ph.D. student in Disaster Science & Management, who works at Delaware Emergency Management Agency as the Delaware Citizen Corps Program Manager since 2015. Prior to attending the University of Delaware, Johnson served as an AmeriCorps VISTA member with Habitat for Humanity International in Atlanta, GA and completed an internship with the Independent Environmental Verification division of Oak Ridge Institute for Science and Education (ORISE) / Oak Ridge Associated Universities (ORAU). Johnson holds a Master’s Degree in Disaster Science & Management from The University of Delaware and plans to complete her doctorate in the Fall of 2021. Currently, Johnson’s topics of interest include disaster preparedness, education and training for civilians, community outreach, special populations, and youth and undergraduate student preparedness.
