Biography
Nafiseh Soleimani is a Ph.D. Candidate in Civil Infrastructure Systems at the University of Delaware. She received her Bachelor and Master of Science in Civil Engineering and Earthquake Engineering from Iran University of Science and Technology in 2012 and 2014. She started her Ph.D. program under the supervision of Professor Rachel Davidson in the Civil Engineering department in February 2018.
She works on Critical, Resilient Infrastructure Systems and Processes (CRISP) project and her contribution on this project is mainly focused on developing a probabilistic optimization-based model to provide multihazard scenarios, damage scenarios, and prioritization of the best mitigation plans for spatially distributed infrastructures such as water supply network that are susceptible to earthquake hazards. In this project, she is collaborating with other professors and professionals such as Professor James Kendra (University of Delaware), Professor Thomas D. O'Rourke, and Professor Linda K. Nozick (Cornell University), Dr. Craig Davis (Los Angeles Department of Water and Power). Her research is funded by the National Science Foundation.
